Wait Before You Brush

When one has an acidic drink or bit of food that has a low pH level, then this can soften your enamel, but only temporarily. Alternatively, once you have had your citrus drink, fruit or soda, wait for 30-60 minutes before you go to brush your teeth. A study showed that people who did follow this tip saw less erosion on their teeth compared to the people who brushed straight after a drink.

Opt For A Softer Brush

Changing your toothbrush every 2-3 months is normal, unless your bristles are frayed, in which case you should change it sooner. Next time you do need to change your brush, you should opt for a soft-bristled brush. Although your mouth may feel cleaner with a medium or hard brush, over time, this can be extremely abrasive to your teeth which will also lead to decay.  

Instead, a soft toothbrush will work just as well, and you should feel just as clean if you are rinsing with mouthwash and flossing once a day. There is never any need to brush too vigorously as this damages gums or teeth. Instead, brush lighter; tilt the brush 45-degree on the gum line and brush in a circular motion to remove all the dirt from your teeth properly without damaging anything.

This will include an examination of your teeth as well as a hygienist cleaning your teeth properly which will remove all the plaque and hardened tartar on the teeth. Start By Brushing Your Back Teeth

Instead of starting your brush at the front of your mouth, start at your molars. When you choose a side to do, you can then start there, and follow the shape of your mouth to go around your teeth the next side of your molars, and then do the same for the bottom. It helps to start at the top ones first as these are the ones that are most likely forgotten. Once done, floss and rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash.

Don’t Sip Sugary Drinks, Get It Down You.

Many people don’t like sugar in the mornings, and whilst you should regulate how much sugar you consume throughout the day it is best to have it all in one rather than sipping it throughout the day. If you are one who enjoys a fizzy drink or a sweet tea or coffee, it may feel better to savour it throughout the day, but this is doing more harm to your teeth than you would if you just drank it.

This is because when you keep introducing your teeth to sugary drinks and foods, some bacteria will use this as food and can turn it to lactic acid which is extremely dangerous for your teeth.
